Pet Health Emergency: Delton Veterinary Hospital is here to help.
We know it can be stressful when you think you have a pet health emergency. We want what is best for you and your pet and we’re committed to finding a solution with our animal health emergency response and care program.
If you’re not sure whether your pet’s condition requires immediate attention, stop second guessing yourself and certainly don’t wait for a response.
Come to us any time between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. No phone call is necessary.
Within minutes of your arrival, a registered animal health technologist, trained to identify discomfort vs. crisis, will assess your pet, and can then discuss options to manage your pet’s condition. In some circumstances, transferring pets to the closest emergency clinic is best for your pet, and we will work with you in making that decision.
Any concern regarding your pet’s health warrants a visit to your animal healthcare team at Delton Veterinary Hospital.
Sometimes our clients notice a problem on the weekend or overnight and are unsure if they should rush immediately to the emergency clinic or not. Here are some common complaints that likely are NOT emergencies, and can be dealt with during regular business hours:

- Vomiting but still eating normally
- Adult dog with loose stool
- A mass somewhere on your animal
- Mild limping
- Ear infections
- Mild eye discharge
- Porcupine attack
- Pale or yellow pet
