Dr. Kelti Kachur
Dr. Kelti Kachur is an associate veterinarian at Delton Veterinary Hospital who sees dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. She has lived in Edmonton for most of her life, but went away to school in Saskatoon at the western college of veterinary medicine to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and has worked in the USA and in Vancouver in emergency medicine.
Dr. Kachur had a chance to travel and even work and volunteer in some amazing places including volunteer veterinary work in South Africa, Uganda, and Togo. She has always known she would be a veterinarian; in all her childhood photos she is off trying to pet wild animals or playing with kittens. She is passionate about animal welfare, maintaining pain-free pets, and preventative care: helping keep our pets healthy for as long as we can by preventing and foreseeing any problems. She has an interest in more natural methods including acupuncture and Chinese herbal medications, in conjunction with traditional medicine.
In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Kachur sees birds and small mammals like rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and rodents.
Dr. Kachur lives with her fiance Jacques and her beautiful 18 year-old Ragdoll cat, Danger Powers. They love to fly fish, camp, travel the world when possible, play sports, take pictures, and enjoy wildlife. In her spare time, she volunteers with the PALS program, and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton. She is also the President of the Edmonton Association of Small Animal Veterinarians, and has been on the Board for over three years.
